What is Structural Integration?
Because it's such a new and innovative therapy, Structural Integration is best explained when it's experienced first hand. Structural Integration (aka Rolf Method) is a type of hands-on bodywork based from of Osteopathy, typically done over 10 sessions. Its goal is to open, align, and balance one's body via what truly holds us together - our fascia or connective tissue. Damage to the fascia can result from many causes including: repetitive use, stress, poor diet, injury, poor posture, emotional trauma, and aging. When fascial malfunction occurs, the fascial net becomes "glued down" to the surrounding muscles and tissues, somewhat like a cast. These restrictions can impair blood flow to the fascia, become trapped in the restricted fascia, and lead to pain and tension. The manual techniques used in the "Ten Series" of Structural Integration, lengthen, broaden, and hydrate the fascial net; restoring structural balance to the body. After these changes occur, restrictions in the flow of energy and the surrounding tissues are reduced. As the fascia normalizes, pain and discomfort are eliminated.

There are three main components to the Ten Series. Each session has its own physical goal and emotional theme tied to it. The process of unravelling and realignment is different for each individual. Some sessions may feel more intense than others. My overall goal is to get you into proper alignment so your body can heal itself. |

"The Rolf Ten Series has helped me understand the connection between mind and body. The sessions have helped me let go of the traumas my body had been holding onto for years. Throughout the process I would have flashbacks of times I was ashamed or embarrassed and I could feel a sense of release. It felt like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders after spending time with Dani. I think it’s very important to have a practioner that can be there for you to help you process certain things that come up that you are releasing. Dani was exactly that for me. She has the gift of healing and has had a huge impact on my life. I am eternally grateful for the time she has spent to really understand the body. Every chance I get I am spreading the word about SI because of the huge impact it has made in my life. It’ll change your life! "

"MY BODY AND I THANK YOU!"
As a high level athlete your body receives all of the positive benefits of training, however, there is a lot of wear and tear on your muscles and ligaments. To be honest, getting in my workout daily and making sure I have time for everything else leaves little time for stretching and foam rolling. Integrating SI with Dani into my weekly regime has made my body "happy" again. After going through the 10 series with Dani, my muscles feel longer and my posture has improved immensely. I have sent many friends and clients to see her as this amazing technique is a total body-changer. I had seen other "ROLFERS" in the past, but Dani's approach has been a lot more soothing and gentle as well as being very educating and knowledgeable while working on your body.
I honestly think she has "magic hands". Thank you Dani....my body and I thank you! Rita Catolino |
