What makes it different from massage and other types of bodywork?
Structural Integration and manual osteopathy treat chronic pain by working with the connective tissue very specifically and strategically. It's great for people who have trouble left over from accident, injuries and surgeries. The goal is to treat the maladaptive patterns that have been developed and reinforced over time. By working with the root structural problem, we are treating the cause and not just the symptoms, ultimately transforming your body into a better self-healing mechanism. Massage Therapy is great for treating acute pain and producing feelings of relaxation, where Structural Integration and osteopathy are effective treatments for chronic pain and improper patterns in your body.

What do I wear?
A large component of the organization of a session is based on how your body is aligning in the field of gravity. It is therefore ideal to wear underwear or bathing suit (traditional bra and underwear for women, and briefs or boxer briefs for men) in which you are comfortable with me viewing your structure. Working directly on the skin allows the most possibility for change in a classic rolf session. Of course your comfort level is the most important factor, and we can discuss what table clothes will be best for you.
